Jordan Green Travel
Middle Eastern Eco Tourism Travel
Jordan travel can open your eyes to a world little known about. As a
nation, they are ahead of the entire Middle Eastern region where
conservation and eco tourism are concerned.
Eco tourism in Jordan promotes an eco friendly relationship between the
local communities and the visiting tourists. It works to provide
economic revenue to these people, while fostering a respect for their
land and natural resources. Because of green travel, hundreds of jobs
have been created in Jordan, supporting local communities. As for
attractions, Jordan is a fantastic destination for green travel. It
holds many different landscapes, and natural places to explore. Eco
tourism has been developed quite efficiently in four different protected
regions, that provide visitors the ability to experience a variety of
habitats. As much as possible, environmentally sound measures have been
taken to uphold the cultural, and natural integrity of the areas. Eco
friendly features such as solar water heating, great insulation for
cooling, and recycling all hold great importance in these buildings The
Dana Biosphere Reserve is made to accommodate eco tourism beautifully.
It holds an eco-lodge, a guest house, and a beautiful campsite. Hiking
is the most popular pursuit in Dana, with a variety of different trails
and eco tours available. This area has also received much protection for
the Bedouins who call it home. Recently, a program was designed to guard
and preserve their customs with sustainable herding for their goat
herders. Some of the rare animals that can be spotted in the wild here
include the horned ibex and the Syrian wolf. It is this very same
landscape that draws many visitors, however, simply to just immerse
themselves within the setting of these gorgeous mountains. The Mujib
Reserve, which rests upon the Dead Sea, provides breathtaking views of
the sea. There are also red sandstone gorges that crest with waterfalls,
and include fantastic river trails. Accommodations here include a
“chalet village” which allows guests to stay right on the beaches of the
sea. For a totally different wildlife experience, you can tour the
Ajloun Forest Reserve. You can stay in cabins, or a tented lodge, while
exploring historic archaeological sites, hiking forest trails, and get
very much absorbed in the village way of life there. Jordan’s Eastern
Desert holds a precious oasis that home to many migratory birds. The
Azraq Wetland Reserve is a serene environment that provides visitors
with a luxuriously comfortable lodge. The wetlands offer much in terms
of exploration, and the contrast of the wetland meeting the desert is a
gorgeous juxtaposition.
Jordan is a less explored land, by Western tourists. However, much has
been done to lure in tourists who are interested in sustainable travel,
and exploring the unique environment as well as biodiversity. This
incredible land holds so much beauty, and remains so pristine; perfect
for any eco enthusiast!
